The P5 Ethernet Cradle has a USB C port (for power), three USB A ports, and an ethernet port on the bottom. It has a 5 pin connection on the top of the cradle that are spring loaded where the P5 makes connection. The cradle supplies power, ethernet connectivity, and gives options for potential future accessories to be connected using the USB A ports.

Note: the provided charger and cable that is included with the terminal will need to be used with the cradle.

Is the P5 terminal charging while in the cradle?
Yes, but not powering on
If the charge indicator comes on when the terminal is seated in the cradle, but the terminal does not power on follow these steps:
Slowly or not at all
If the terminal is not powering on and does not have an indicator that it is charging when seated in the cradle, check the following:
Make sure that all power connectors are plugged in fully by unplugging them all (from the power outlet to the cradle) and plugging them back in. Check that there is no visible damage to the power supply “brick” or the power cord. If the cord is bent 90 degrees right at the rubber/plastic grommet at either end it can break the wires inside the cable. Check this by:
Check that the “brick” being used is the one that came with the terminal, or has at least these power output requirements:

Note: If a different power supply “brick” is being used due to damage or loss of the original one, it needs to have at least this output, or it will not charge the terminal properly in or out of the cradle.

Remove the terminal from the cradle and check the pins on the cradle and the copper pads on the back of the terminal. Clean them with an alcohol swab if needed. The pins are spring loaded and should pop back up when pressed on, the pads on the back of the terminal should have a shinny copper look.
The terminal is seated properly and fully into the cradle. The cradle and terminal fit very tightly together and you may may need to press down on the terminal firmly to seat it properly (Press down with two fingers on the bezel on each side of the terminal in the center, approximately where the two buttons are located on the side of the terminal).
Check that the battery is seated properly, by removing and reinserting it. Check that the battery is not damaged or swollen, this can cause the terminal not to power on correctly. Make sure that the back cover is installed correctly and all connectors are making a solid connection.

Ethernet (Hardwire connection)
A wired ethernet connection is the most reliable and secure connection available to the terminal. The ethernet cradle or a USB C Ethernet adapter are the only methods to connect a terminal to the internet with a physical wired connection.
The ethernet cable will need to be connected to the port on the underside of the cradle, and to an active network port. Once the connection is made, the terminal will need to be put into ethernet connection mode. Ethernet
These are some area to look if the ethernet isn’t connecting:
Wi-Fi (Wireless connection)
The P5 ethernet cradle can also be used to charge and power the terminal only, and still have the terminal set to use Wi-Fi for it’s internet connection.
