❗ 1. Payment Declined
A decline usually means the bank rejected the transaction.
Common reasons:
- 💸 Insufficient funds
- ⏳ Card expired
- 🚫 Bank’s risk systems (3D Secure / fraud rules)
- 🧾 Incorrect card details
🔎 How to verify the decline:
- Go to PayFac → https://payments.quiltsoftware.com
- Search the merchant’s business name
- Open Payments tab
- Look for a recent transaction with Declined or Error
- Click the transaction → read the logs → explain the reason to the merchant
If PayFac shows "Declined," there is nothing wrong with the P5 or POS.
🪫 If the terminal errors out before a card is even attempted, check the battery level.
