Charging - Best Practices
- Make sure the terminal is charged for at least 30 minutes before you start using it.
- Always charge the terminal using an outlet or the optional ethernet dock where applicable. Do NOT use a laptop port or other USB port for charging.
- Check to make sure the charging icon is visible on the screen. This should look like a battery icon with a lightening bolt in it. Sometimes the charging cable can become loose so always verify the device shows it’s charging before proceeding.
Battery Life
Our terminals should last up to 15 hours on a full charge however depending on various conditions, including: screen brightness; frequency of use; temperature; and more, the battery may drain after only 7-8 hours. This is completely normal and should be expected. If the battery is dying faster than that or does not take a charge at all, please consult the steps below.
Take out the Battery
- Turn the terminal off

Press and hold the power button the right-hand side of the device for 1 second until an option appears at the top of the screen to restart the device. Press the Power Off button.

Press and hold the power button the left-hand side of the device for 1 second until an option appears at the right of the screen to restart the device. Press the Power Off button.
- Stripe WisePOS E
Press and hold the power button the right-hand side of the device for 1 second until an option appears at the right of the screen to restart the device. Press the Power Off button.
- Remove the battery cover from the back of the terminal
- Take out the battery
- Make sure there is no dust or debris between the battery connector and the terminal
- Put the battery back in the terminal
- Charge for at least 30 minutes
- After charging, press and hold the power button for at least three seconds to restart the terminal
Replace the Charger
If the battery is still not charging, it may sometimes be necessary to replace the charger.
